Quality Assurance Policy

The Quality Assurance Policy applied by the Early Years Learning and Care Department of the University of Ioannina is in line with the “Quality Policy” of the University of Ioannina and focuses on the continuous improvement of the quality of the Department’s educational, research and administrative work.
The strategic objective of the Department’s policy is to ensure and continuously improve the quality of its undergraduate programme of study, in order for its graduates to have the highest possible scientific training, equipping them with all the necessary resources and skills for a successful academic and/or professional career.
The Policy of the Department is made public to members of the academic and administrative staff and to its students.

The Department’s Quality Assurance Policy, in line with the University’s “Quality Policy” is governed by the following key principles and standards: 

  • A commitment to shaping and consolidating the positioning of the Department within the academic community by adopting innovative international practices. The Department, through processes and actions, aims towards its continuous development and improvement with a focus and commitment towards (a) student-centered learning, (b) extroversion, (c) excellence and recognition in both education and research, (d) respect for people, (e) the free exchange of ideas, as well as (f) innovation and initiative.
  • Improving the design and implementation of appropriate forms of intervention and optimization of educational training strategies and practices and the acquisition of skills suitable for graduates’ professional careers.
  • Adoption of the Quality Policy of the Qualifications Framework of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) with the main objective being strengthening the recognition of the work provided and the degree of the Department and by extension graduates’ academic and professional qualifications.
  • Continuous improvement and development of the Department’s human resources.
