During the week of May 5-9, the Department of Early Years Learning and Care, University of Ioannina, was visited via the Erasmus+ programme, by Professors Dr. Daniel Barranco (Department of Experimental Sciences and Statistics, Faculty of Psychology and Education, University of Atlántico Medio, Spain) and Dr. Andrea Fenyődi (Faculty of Primary and Pre-School Education, Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary). During their visit, Dr. Fenyődi presented to students and faculty members of the Department the University Εötvös Loránd. Dr. Barranco introduced the Atlántico Medio University and gave two lectures entitled “The Laboratory of Experimental Sciences in Early Childhood Education” and “Teaching Experimental Sciences by Exploring the World Around Us”. The presentations and the lectures of the professors were attended with great interest by the students and faculty members of the Department.

During their visit, the colleagues also visited, accompanied by the Departmental Coordinator for the Erasmus+ program, Dr. Konstantina Rentzou, the 11th Kindergarten of Ioannina. The Director of the Kindergarten, Dr. Efthymia Tsiara, and the kindergarten teachers presented the way the Greek kindergarten operates, elements and dimensions of the curriculum and the challenges they face.
